Always a pleasure bringing my cat here all the staff are friendly and treat my Loki amazingly. They are very on it with communication and make sure you are fully informed and respond quickly to emails. And they're reasonably priced, especially compared to my previous vets who would charge a fortune and then not treat effectively. Highly recommend this practice

I cannot thank Esther and her team enough for the care they gave my dog teddy when he was very poorly. They are compassionate and caring and very transparent on the cost of treatment. I cannot recommend this vets enough and appreciate everything they have done to get teddy well again x

Never had any issues, attentive staff, sometimes appointments can be a while,but can be flexible, obviously a busy practice and lots of loyal customers. Charges are quite high, especially for annual jabs

Wrote a review before but it’s been taken down. My bunny had a gut appointment on the 01/05 and nothing was done and I was charged £68 and he died on 05/05 my way to moulton emergency. I saw Laura at Rhodes and all she cared about is money, so insensitive and not sure why she does the job if she lacks empathy and doesn’t really care about animals. They’re supposed to be professionals, they know what they’re doing and all for money only! She didn’t offer me a refund after the lost of a beloved pet so made a complain and this is what the clinical director said.. At the time of the consultation, the main concern was that Mr Grey was not himself, he was losing a bit of weight and not eating as many treats/vegetables. My colleague performed a full physical examination and there were no obvious abnormalities detected at the time of examination. During the appointment, it was discussed the possibility of performing some blood tests, but it was decided to monitor the situation at that point, given the fact that Mr Grey looked healthy on examination and his clinical signs at the time were mild. Many times, minor issues are self-limiting, and it is better to be conservative as rabbits are very fragile, and any intervention causing stress can trigger serious complications. Collecting blood samples can be challenging and is not well tolerated by these patients. Imaging techniques such as ultrasound are often of limited use due to the high presence of gas in the gastrointestinal tract and radiography requires at the very least some degree of sedation which can be life threatening on its own. Rabbits have a higher complication rate than other species when having sedations or anaesthetics, including death. Sadly, during the days following your initial visit to us the situation did not improve and Mr Grey passed away 4-5 days later. It is difficult to say if the outcome could have been different had we seen Mr Grey back a few days later. Regrettably, it is not unusual for rabbits to suffer from sudden death since, being prey animals, they hide evidence of illness quite well. I can see from the out of hours notes that the reason for his passing was strongly suspected to be gut stasis. At the time of our examination, this was not considered an issue as Mr Grey was still eating and passing normal stools and he did not present bloated or painful in his abdomen. Gut stasis often develops as a consequence of some other underlying condition. Having reviewed the case myself and discussed it with the colleague that saw you and Mr Grey, I am satisfied that our management of his care was entirely reasonable and appropriate and, for that reason, trust you will understand why I consider a refund of fees is not warranted. I cannot finish this email without mentioning your review on google about our services, particularly your strong comments about our colleague. We completely understand how heartbroken you must feel after the loss of your beloved pet. However, we feel it is not justified to be so offensive towards one of our very experienced and caring veterinary surgeons. We do care for every single patient we take care of. Losing a patient is not easy for us either. No matter how long you are in this profession it does not get easier when things go unexpectedly wrong. The advice our colleague gave you following the assessment of Mr Grey was based on the clinical findings at the time of the consultation. Advice was given with the best of intentions and based on the clinical findings at the time. Such strong and disrespectful comments from your part are totally out of order. Making these types of comments in social media can cause significant mental health issues to professionals that only try to do their best every day. We don't tolerate this from any client towards our staff, so we agree with you that our professional relationship should end here. I hope this addresses your concerns and explains our position.
